Corrections and factual errors#

Include the page, the claim you think is wrong, and why. Sources are welcome but not required. Anything that changes a number or a recommendation is published on the corrections page with the date and the reason.
If the issue affects safety, particularly on water treatment or stove use, say so in the subject line and we will look at it first.
Questions about a guide or a calculator#
We cannot give individual gear-buying consultations, and we do not recommend specific products by model. What we can usefully answer is a question about a method, an assumption in a calculator, or a number you cannot reproduce. Those questions frequently improve the pages, which is a good reason to ask them.
Accessibility#
If any part of this site is difficult to use with a screen reader, keyboard navigation, magnification or a high contrast setting, tell us what you were trying to do and what happened. Accessibility problems are treated as defects, not as feature requests.
Advertising and commercial enquiries#
Advertising is sold as display inventory only. We do not accept sponsored articles, paid links, product placements, or free products in exchange for coverage, and we do not amend published content at an advertiser's request. Messages proposing any of those will not receive a reply.
Press and republication#
Short quotations with a link are welcome without asking. For republishing a chart, a dataset or a substantial part of a page, ask first and tell us where it will appear. The data behind every chart is already available in the expandable table under it.
What to expect#
We are not a support desk and we do not promise a service level. In practice, corrections are acknowledged within a few days, and everything else when there is something worth saying. We do not have a phone line and we do not run social media accounts, so email is the only route.
